Your Role
You have probably guessed it by now, but just so we are absolutely clear your role will be to go out into your local community and shout from the roof tops about this great service called Kirstys Horses! You will need to tell everyone you meet that you are the local horse sitter for the area and you are on hand to assit them with their horse care.
Once you have clients you will then be required to provide a range of horse sitting services to your clients.
To ensure the highest quality of care is offered at all times, you need to be British Horse Society (BHS) Stage 1 qualified or hold an equivalent qualification.
By using the BHS Stage 1 qualification as a benchmark for all our horse sitters, this ensures two things:
- All clients are aware that the person looking after their horse has been trained in accordance with BHS standards. Giving them the comfort their horse is being looked after by someone who is fully able and trained to a set standard.
- It ensures a high level of service all over the UK. This is vital for the brands developments in ensuring it is recognised as the number one professional horse sitting service across the UK
However don’t worry if you don’t have the BHS Stage 1 qualification, as we have designed a Special Mentoring Program that will ensure you gain it as quickly as possible.

How does Kirstys Horses work?
By becoming a horse sitter, you will gain an exclusive right to operate Kirstys Horses in your local area.
The area you will be operating in will be defined by a collection of postcodes and is based upon:
- Local population (people)
- Horse demographics
- Rural or City area
- Number of riding schools in the area
- Number of livery yards in the area
- Number of horse related activity reported in specific areas
